The Congress and the Senate have no right to sit on their larals and do nothing to get this healthcare moving...we need change and we need it now..it is the will of the Majority of Americans...if you think Healthcare is bad now...wait until the Boomers hit. If we get started now, we can work out the kinks as we go. We did this for the BANKS, Wall Street, Mortgage Companies and Insurance Companies ...we now need to do it for the AMERICAN PEOPLE who run this country.
Health Care and TriCare for Life I am a retired member of the Armed Forces, entitled to TriCare for Life, I have heard rumors that this program may be terminated as too expensive, I have heard some say we have access to the Military Medical Facilities, which in essence is true, if one happens to reside in the vicinity, and the facility is not overburdened with our "Wounded Warriors" who certainly deserve priority for treatment. I urge all committee members to keep in mind, throughout our long period of service we were always advised that we would have health care of for life, and not to eliminate this program.
In 2012 we must vote for Governor Sarah Palin to become our President and Governor Mitt Romney to become our Vice President starting on January 20, 2013 , because of Governor Sarah Palin's and Governor Mitt Romney's superior right wing conservative philosophy. Governor Sarah Palin's and Governor Mitt Romney's superior right wing philosophy is shown in that they are pro God and Christianity, pro life, pro marriage; pro guns-second amendment, pro low taxes, pro low government spending; pro small government, pro unintrusive government, pro traditional and Judeo Christian values; pro Bible reading and prayer in our public schools, pro Christians schools and private education , pro private and free enterprise; pro military spending, anti arms agreements with Russia, pro creation; pro nuclear, pro conservative supreme court judges, pro American sovereignty; pro capitalism, anti communist, anti socialist; conservative on immigration, and pro constitution, John Warren
July 9, 2009 I write this letter with a significant concern for the National Healthcare reform bill before senate committee. I know there are those trying to push this bill through congress as quickly as possible. What is the rush? I hear many comments by the President about making sure the poor have insurance and how it is my duty to as an American to “do the right thing”. First of all, judging by the way the president and the congress have BLOWN through Trillions of our tax dollars, bailed out numerous companies and taken over car companies; forgive me if my confidence in the congress is not what it was say, when Reagan was in office. All of this change in just shy of six months! Somebody needs to remind Mr. Obama he is no longer a community organizer and is indeed the President of the United States of America. One cannot run the two the same way. I don’t think this was the kind of change even the democrats were thinking of, when they voted last November. Second, I have listened to many debates concerning healthcare and how the President wants to get insurance for millions of uninsured people in this country. I have heard all sorts of tales about how too many people can’t afford healthcare. I have heard the private companies cost too much. And on and on it goes. What it comes down to, is the government wants to take over yet another company that is now privately run. I was flipping channels June 17 and stopped when I saw C-SPAN was live on Capitol Hill in the healthcare committee room. I heard the last part of Judd Gregg’s remarks and then listened to the Democratic senator from Maryland Ms. Mikulski. I will have to say, she and her friend from Washington State truly bother me. In all honesty, I had all but decided to make sure I only vote for “the new guy” in my state until I listened to Richard Burr (R-NC) today, Mr. Burr. Maybe you’re as full of BS as the rest of them, but you did make some sense today. I pray you made your case and you have enough clout that they listen to you in committee anyway. But most of all I pray that you believe what you were saying; it’s hard to know who is sincere these days up there on the hill. I hope you meant what you were saying and weren’t just speaking to the cameras. I listened to the other senators tell stories of “people they had spoken to” from their state, so here’s one for you if you ever need it. I am a 50 year old white female (That is how my doctor describes me, except he usually uses the word pleasant.) from Summerfield, NC. I became ill with strep throat when I was 27 or 28. Sometime after that I started getting symptoms. All different kinds at first then they started building up on each other. For ten years I thought I had MS until one of the foremost MS specialists in the country (who happens to be in our state) told me he “did not know what I had, but it was not MS”. I had good years and bad for a while but, about 12-15 years ago I became totally disabled and completely unable to work, drive a car, clean my house and for the last year, not only do I not leave my house much but many days I do not get out of bed. I tell you this not for you to feel sorry for me, don’t. There are plenty of people in worse shape than I, in much more need of your sympathies. I am blessed. I have a family that loves me. I have been waiting for 20 years for somebody to develop a cure for me, but so far I haven’t been so fortunate. Sometimes I feel like you have to have a celebrity have your illness for the illness to get any real research dollars. There are not many people with Autonomic nervous system disorders so I am still waiting for help. They have come up with some new medications, however they are very expensive. My medications cost almost $2000.00 per month. Without insurance I can’t pay for that. If the government makes it not worth the employers while to help with insurance how will I pay for my medications, not to mention the doctors etc. I have a husband who has worked for the same company for 31 years. Part of that is because he likes his work. Part of that is because he is the Best at his work, but a part of that is also because he has a wife with a chronic illness whom no one can figure out so he stays to keep me with insurance. As the years have gone by the coverage is maybe not as good as it once was, But it is still better than most. It’s hard enough now to get in to see good Doctors. But if this new healthcare reform plan goes through, someone like me, who has to keep a watch out myself for new treatments, would most likely not be deemed worthy of a doctor’s visit. How will that affect my overall status of health? I need med checks. How hard is that going to be? The little bit of life I have in this broken down body will break down much faster because of the waits and stalls or pure denials a chronically ill patient will undoubtedly go through. It is like Mr. Burr said the other day on C-SPAN you get one chance to get it right. Is it true that this bill will not even be offered to people making less than $33,000.00? I thought they were the whole point. When is Washington D.C. going to realize they cannot pin the price tag of everything on the middle class? I don’t see the rich people opting for a government version, when they can clearly pay for the coverage that best suits them. So, do they pay penalties for not opting for the government option the same way the middle class and poor will be? Why haven’t we heard about these penalties and how this bill is going to be paid for on the news? And the Crème de la crème of all of this mess is how the UNIONS get a PASS! Are you kidding me? It wasn’t enough to dupe the bond owners out of their money when GM had to file chapter 13 and screw over the very people that believed in them. People deserve to know what is going on and the few Republican members we have left are our only voice. Your only chance of keeping your seats is to stand up and speak out! You may not win popularity contest with your Democratic colleagues, but remember why you went to Washington, and whom you represent. Thank you for your time. If this health care plan is so wonderful for Americans then why are the President, Senators, Representatives and all Federal Employees exempt from the plan (Section 3116)?
