  • Gore equates global warming skeptics with Bernie Madoff

Former VP Al Gore compared scientists who question global warming with indicted stock swindler Bernie Madoff Friday, arguing that they are all guilty of perpetuating a fraud.

During testimony before the House Energy and Commerce Committee, the VP turned environmental advocate got into a brief verbal tussle with global warming skeptic Rep. Joe Barton (R-TX) who questioned Gore's statistics about carbon emissions.

"It is important to look at sources of science you rely on," Gore told Barton. "With all due respect, I believe you have relied on people you have trusted who have given you bad information. I don't blame the investors who trusted Bernie Madoff but he gave them bad information."

Gore also took aim Global Climate Coalition, which represents the oil and coal industry, calling the group the "Bernie Madoff's of global warming."

The NY Times reports today that the group ignored it's own scientific advice in trying to keep alive doubts about the science behind climate change.

"They have committed a fraud larger than Madoff's fraud....they lied to people who trusted them in order to make money," Gore said.

Gore's assault on global warming skeptics came as the House deliberates a "cap and trade" bill sponsored by Henry Waxman (D-CA) and Ed Markey (D-MA) that would mandate carbon emission cuts.

Gore lauded the energy bill as "one of the most important pieces of legislation ever introduced in the Congress," and compared it to landmark legislation including the Marshall Plan to rebuild Europe after WWII and 1960s Civil Rights bill.

"This bill will simultaneously address the climate crisis, the economic crisis, and the national security threats that stem from our dependence on foreign oil," he said in his opening statement to the committee.

"We cannot afford to wait any longer for this transition. Each day that we continue with the status quo sees more of our fellow Americans struggling to provide for their families. Each day that we continue on our path, America loses more of its competitive edge. And each day we wait, we increase the risk that we will leave our children and grandchildren an irreparably damaged planet," Gore said. "Passage of this legislation will restore America's leadership of the world and begin, at long last, to solve the climate crisis. It is truly a moral imperative. Moreover, the scientific evidence of how serious this climate crisis is becoming continues to amass week after week."

Gore's testimony caps off four days of hearings on the legislation. Former VA Sen. John Warner and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich also testified before the committee Friday.

News Flash…"Global Warming causes humans to lose their minds" Contributing Editor:Winston Smith, 1984 Today it is reported that CO2 levels in Oceania were approaching 1000ppm...these high levels are due to the excessive emissions taking place in Eurasia..... attacks on Eurasia are planned shortly.... The above could be a headline from some future climate change news cast...We are living in an environment of pervasive government surveillance and control, and the increasing encroachment on the rights of the individual. To compare a scientist who simply questions Global Warming to Bernie Madoff indicates that Al is getting desperate...as the temperature refuses to rise he is getting more and more frantic....and remember “BIG AL IS WATCHING YOU”...anyone who doubts AGW (you thought it meant “Anthropogenic Global Warming”…it actually means “Al Gore Whitetwash” ) is guilty of "Thoughtcrime" children will soon be reporting on their parents if they suspect the parents of producing to much CO2....as always War is Peace; Freedom is Slavery; Ignorance is Strength."... We will soon be rewriting global temperature records since he who controls the present, controls the past and he who controls the past, controls the future. The motivation of the Brotherhood of climate change is not to achieve a future paradise but to retain power, which has become an end in itself. They will change society and their ultimate goal will be to eliminate anything that may come between them and their doctrine. It will be a movement that grows more, not less merciless as it refines itself. At the end of the day “having faith in Global Warming is believing in something you know isn’t true”… !!!

Al Gore... who cares about the people so long as we save a couple of polar bears! Sign the petition for the resignation of Barrack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid at SHADOWFAXREPORT.com. They have broken their oath of office to uphold and protect the Constitution of the United States of America. If they do not resign they should be impeached for treasonous acts.

Al Gore is just a angry power sad politician, I don't trust him at all. He does not care about anything, but himself like most power happy politicians. All that matters to him is putting fear in people. He is a angry, angry man. He needs to go to anger management.

Here we go again, back to name calling. First it was the flat earther and now a criminal financier link. What about the actual science and data connected with this issue? We have seen plenty of junk science propaganda, such as the Mann Hockey stick, the made up data from weather station Harry in Antarctica, when in fact it was burried under 20 feet of snow and ice and of course the highly selective photo of a Polar Bear taken in August! Given that CO2 makes up <0.05% of the Earth's atmosphere and the man made contribution is a minute amount of that, you would be nearer the mark taxing water vapour if it were true that the Earh is still warming via reliable independent data. The truth of the matter is that CO2 is a very convenient revenue meter with Governments and the likes of Mr Gore the collectors. You have until December to wake up and reject this scam before the dodgy deal is signed in Copenhagen! Beware.

It is laughable that a person of no scientific knowledge attempts to tell the world that he is capable of forecasting the future of weather patterns. Furthermore the worlds top producers of Carbon dioxide are US, China, Brazil, Indonesia, and India. Four of these countries have said bluntly they have no intention of not "of not cutting their production of CO 2". China admits the production 4 tons of CO 2 per Person. They claim we produce 10 tons per person. 4 X 1,300,000,000 = 5,200,000,000 tons per year. 304,000,000 people X 10 = 3,040,000,000 tons. All of the other producers have no intention of reducing their outputs. If Us goes to 0. Their production alone will make our 0 useless.

Do I believe that the earth is warming, yes but I live in Arizona and its always hot here. As for Mr. Gore science its okay for him but he shouldn't be permitted to talk like an authority as he isn't! He interpreted data and spread it around like his the only conclusion possible. there is data that shows that CO2 levels have been his hi before followed by very cold spells. There are some scientist who say we may be at the end of a warming cycle. I'm not saying we should continue polluting put his "panic" message is, in my opinion, a bit overdone and perhaps more political than concern keeps his name in view!
